WATCH: Gay Contestant Proposes To Boyfriend Of 18 Years On “Project Runway”

The recently married Jesse Tyler Ferguson (woefully sans his beard) is a guest judge on this Thursday’s Project Runway where he shills his Tie the Knot bowties, which benefit marriage equality. As part of the challenge, contestants must incorporate JTF’s bowties in their designs, inspiring Californian Brandon to propose to Josh, his boyfriend of 18 years. Adding a bit of incentive: while the episode was being filmed, the Supreme Court handed down its decisions on DOMA and Prop 8.

Meanwhile, how adorable is it when JTF, Nina Garcia and Zac Posen clutch their collective pearls? That gorgeous German-engineered robot and perennial Emmy nominee Heidi Klum, however, can only register two emotions and both of them are “fierce.” She does volunteer to be a bridesmaid for Brandon and Josh’s wedding, though, which is a surefire way to get upstaged on your big day. But we guess Brandon could just put her in something awful — especially if she ends up giving him the “Auf” this season.

Project Runway airs on Lifetime Thursdays at 9 pm.
