WATCH: Give A Hand To Bye June’s Marriage Anthem, “Shades of Purple”

Bye June‘s Gil Kline sent us a lovely note about this video for his band’s catchy ditty, “Shades of Purple,” which he calls “a video with a story of having the freedom to love whom ever one chooses despite gender, religion or sexual orientation.” The song, the first single off their upcoming album, My Life is an Independent Film, makes us feel warm and fuzzy. And the video itself is incredible—very Michel Gondry.

Enjoy!

      it was ok.
      the song is nice.
I rather enjoyed his voice.. it was a nice change from the “whiny” quality that seems to be so popular these days in pop music.

The lyrics, while I understand he was telling the story and all that, were really clunky, however. I wish they had spent more time selecting the words and actually setting them to the music. To me, the lyrics are just smooshed on to the pre-existing musical line. That’s not my idea of good song writing.

Their heart is in the right place.
I do hope the song gets plenty of coverage.

I thought the lyrics, music and video was great! Some of the words were very deep and moving.
