Movie of the Week

WATCH: Heartthrob Matthew Wilkas Stars in “Gayby”

It’s been a big year for out gay actor Matthew Wilkas. In addition to performing on Broadway twice a week as Peter Parker in Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, keep an eye out for the boy-next-door-with-a-six-pack heartthrob in HBO’s upcoming gay series, “Looking” as well as in the big new Chris Rock comedy, Finally Famous. Fans may also recognize Wilkas from his star turn in last year’s hilarious hit comedy, Gayby — in which he costars with comedienne Jenn Harris as a gay guy and his straight best friend who decide to have a baby together (the old-fashioned way). Needless to say, much humor ensues. Written and directed by Jonathan Lisecki, the sharply funny indie also showcases a veritable who’s-who of New York City talent including Lisecki himself, “Strangers with Candy’s” Jack Ferver, Mike Doyle (Green Lantern), Adam Driver and Alex Karpovsky (“Girls”), Dule Hill (“Psych”), Charlie Barnett (“Chicago Fire”) Sarita Choudhury (“Homeland”) and Broadway stage veteran Louis Cancelmi.

Gayby is this week’s WolfeOnDemand.com Movie of the Week. Watch the trailer above and then rent or download it directly from WolfeOnDemand.com now.
