WATCH: The latest Amazon Kindle ad features a man and a woman in a typical meet-cute scenario: he’s haplessly helpless with his e-reader thanks to all that glare from the sun while she’s literary loungin’ with her new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite.
When he finally caves and buys the new Kindle, he suggests they celebrate and she points out that her husband is already on drink duty. Turns out, so is his hubby. Precious.
Meanwhile, anyone else think the husbands in question were totally hitting on each other? But perhaps we’re just being shady, which also comes in handy when reading on the beach.

Sometimes I wish I had a Kindle. I have a Nook, and though the Nook has superior technicalities to the Kindle, I’d rather invest in a Kindle because they probably offer more LGBT friendly content. Plus, their ads are just awesome.

This is just an odd commercial all-around, but putting in the last bit kinda didn’t make sense, maybe ‘cuz it felt like shameless pandering to me, I dunno.
DarkZephyr
@Fidelio: Why did it feel like “shameless pandering”?

A good commercial…grow a life..

Thank you Kindle for showing a gay couple that would just look like any other couple on the beach… No Glitter; “haaaay Girl”; weird outrageous hairdo; and NO SNAPPING!!… Cheers, and congrats on a great commercial.

Has this commercial actually aired on TV? Where has it aired?
TVC 15
Cute. But seriously, I don’t think gay couples would go to those types of resorts.
Fidelio
@DarkZephyr: The commercial is ok, I guess, but the last bit didn’t make sense to me. Gay couples are not chotchkies. A sincere effort at marketing to gay people would make the gay couple more prevalent. I actually loved the kindle commercials in this series (probably because Mark Jude Sullivan is so dreamy):

Those type of resorts?…..nice to know the “majority of homophobia” still comes from the gays….

I thought it was funny, and cute. I thought I was watching LOGO for a second, oh, I forgot LOGO only airs Teen Mom and Drag Race anymore.
Ramjet
We just came back from one of “those types of resorts” and had a great time, with no issues. We sat and the beach and around the pool with no comments from anyone.

It’s a cool commercial. I was pleasantly surprised. Good for you, Amazon.
