WATCH: Lust In The Laundromat In Doron Alon’s “Self Service”

In writer-director Doron Alon’s short “Self Service,” a 20something man comes to the laundrette to do a load but winds up encountering a streetpunk teen who gets surprisingly intimate.

An award winner at the Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival in 2008, “Self Service” also screened at Frameline, MIX Brasil and the Hamburg International LGBT Film Festival. Alon also directed the Hebrew-language short “Boxes,” which premiered at the Tel Aviv’s gay film fest in 2011.

wow… Sort of saw what was coming… well partly, thought the hustler was going to rob him. The look on the hustler’s face while the john (by accident) jerked-off was ALMOST as painful as the look on the john’s face when he discovered what the deal was. Made me wonder what led the str8 hustler (??) willing to sell himself to gay men.

Depressing, perhaps, but not pointless. A lot of people have relationships that are about as flimsy as this. Some physical attraction, someone gets used… Makes you think. Pretty good for a short.
