WATCH: Muslim Man In Nebraska Arrested In Hate Crime Against Lesbian Sister

tuma-marksA lesbian woman in Lincoln, Nebraska was attacked Thursday with a crowbar by two men, one of whom was her brother who believed she was bringing shame upon their Muslim family, TV station KLKN reports.

Ahmed Tuma, 20, became angry with his sister, whose name hasn’t been revealed, when she announced she is in a relationship with a female. Lincoln police say that Tuma and his friend Nathan Marks, also 20-years-old, tried to attack Tuma’s sister with a crowbar. The couple escaped into their car, but Tuma repeatedly hit the vehicle with the crowbar. Tuma also made verbal threats to kill his sister. After the couple drove away, Tuma and Marks followed in Mark’s vehicle, ramming them from behind in an attempt to push them into oncoming traffic.

The women escaped with no injuries. Tuma was arrested for attempted 2nd degree assault, criminal mischief, use of a weapon to commit a felony and two counts of terroristic threats. Marks was arrested for aiding and abetting Tuma and making terroristic threats. Both will be arraigned next week.
