AIDS activist, fashion icon and the reason behind Helen Mirren’s Oscar and subsequent career, Lady Diana Spencer finally gets the Hollywood biopic treatment we all knew was bound to happen. Luckily, Diana seems to be in capable hands starring Actress Naomi Watts and helmed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall).
The film focuses on the last two years of Diana’s life when she was busy eradicating land mines and getting busy with Dr. Hasnat Khan, played by Lost‘s Naveen Andrews.
While Watts doesn’t bare much of a resemblance to the “People’s Princess,” Michelle Williams was able to act her way across as Marilyn Monroe and into an Academy Award nomination so we predict the same this time around.
Our only gripe so far is that Diana is such a generic title. What about Candle in the Wind? Or The People’s Princess? Hell, The Princess Diana Diaries. Call us gay, but when we hear “Diana,” our minds immediately go here:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
And then here.

Michelle Williams was amazing as Marilyn and difinitely captured her essence. Though Naomi may not look like Princess Diana, she’s such a capable actress, I’m sure she will do the same.
