Another day, another hissy fit from the good Christian ladies in One Dozen Million Moms. This time they’ve got their granny panties in a wad over the recent holiday installment of Glee. The episode titled “Previously Unaired Christmas” saw Alex Newell’s transgender character Unique not only portray the Holy Virgin Mary in a nativity scene, but sing a kick-ass rendition of the Supremes’ baby-out-of-wedlock anthem “Love Child” (watch it above and try not to sing along).
The conservative watchdogs sent out a mass email in which they pleaded to their cult members followers to write Glee‘s advertisers and demand they, ahem, pull out of the Fox series immediately. Read a portion of their missive below:
Other religions do not tolerate this behavior and as Christians we will not either. Why any producer or network feels mocking a sacred and religious holiday where Christians celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ is acceptable is beyond me. Glee should not and will not get a free pass to make a joke of Christmas. This is not the first time the show has aired blasphemous content in their program. Glee producer Ryan Murphy is used to pushing the moral boundaries on his show, but last week’s episode went too far. The mockery of the Christmas story was blasphemous and an abomination.
The show featured the transgender student, Unique, portraying the Virgin Mary in their high school’s nativity scene and acts out giving birth to the baby Jesus. The doll representing Jesus wore a sequin diaper and was thrown from singer to singer while they sang “Love Child, Never Meant to be.” Baby Jesus is tossed around like a rag doll and shown no respect. In another scene, a bisexual “Sexy Santa,” gets two female characters and the show’s gay male character drunk before robbing them blind — all this after making out with and tying the male character up in bed. These same females in a previous scene are elves at the local mall and tell kids to ask for mobile devices they could download porn on while wearing skimpy elf costumes.

Not exactly a surprise is it? And that statement practically justifies religious extremism. “Other religions do not tolerate this behavior and as Christians we will not either.” Really?? That’s the one thing ya got goin for ya. But I guess now, you’re thinking Al Qaeda is not so bad??!
What kills me is that these are the exact same people who whine about “freedom of speech” when one of their own faces a huge backlash for some ignorant comment. As usual, the street never goes both ways with these people.
BBellairs
They obviously watch the show or they wouldn’t be able to describe it so accurately. Or maybe the show was described to them by their gay sons! Either way, I sense some closet Glee watchers in the group.

I also am extremely upset with “GLEE” and Company. The very LEAST they could have done was warn us so we knew when it was being aired! I missed the damn episode and I am NOT happy!

As I re-read their rant, I really can’t tell if they’re complaining or rejoicing! Make up your minds, 1M Bitch*s!!!

Best episode in a long time….

I’ve said it before (and I’m about to say it again… haha): Every time I read anything about the “The National Organization for Marriage (NOM)” and/or “One Million Moms (OMM)” I cannot *not* think of Cookie Monster.
OMM NOM NOM NOM

Why does intent never matter to these people? The entire point of the scene was to be blasphemous to get Kitty so upset that she would accept the role of the Virgin Mary. That was the point!
Beyond that it was hilarious!

One Million whiny Moms with the typical Christian persecution complex. I believe that people with weak faith react in that manner.
Mark
Oh the irony!
They clearly did not watch the entire episode, because context is EVERYTHING.
They purposefully performed the song with the transgender character as Mary, in order to convince the one Christian girl that she had to step up and play Mary in their nativity scene, while she had previously considered herself to be unworthy of portraying the virgin Mary.
So if anything it should be the LGBT community protesting for Glee apparently insinuating that a trans portraying virgin Mary is offensive, but that would be overreacting and we’ll leave that to the crones at 1MM.

Excuse me for lack of a better term, but pull the holy cross out of your ass. If the actually watched the episode they: A) would have heard the disclaimer from Jane Lynch(not Sue Sylvester) as to what viewers were about to see, they should know that it was a very controversial episode. B) if they saw the end result with who ACTUALLY played the Virgin Mary at the nativity scene, they would have seen Kitty. The whole point of the blasphemy was to have the “typical Christian” Virgin Mary.

This performance was SICKENING…..keep on turning it out Unique. Make em eat it and GAG!

@Mark: Intelligence is truly lost on the 1M sluts! They wouldn’t know the difference between mierda and Shinola if it were smeared on their fece… errrr, faces!

Unique does not play Kitty.
Alex Newell plays Unique and another actress portrays Kitty.
I can’t even believe I admit to still watching this show which should say the one million moms are a tad late to be protesting this episode of Glee or Glee at all for that matter. The show has been over for at least the last 2 seasons.

“”Other religions do not tolerate this behavior and as Christians we will not either.””

1. Oh ok, if they want to use other religions ways of dealing with “Blasphemy” as an example…..so then they are aligning themselves with the radical Islamist clerics that want people killed if they convert to another religion.
2. OMM’s is upset?!?! All 45 of them?!

“Why any producer or network feels mocking a sacred and religious holiday where Christians celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ is acceptable is beyond me.”
1. No one knows when (if) Jesus was really born.
2. The time they picked to celebrate is based off of when the Romans celebrated the Winter Solstice/Saturnalia so it baffles me that they get so hot in the pants over a holiday that they have already misappropriated.
2eo
@zoompietro: Agreed, considering there are literally ZERO accounts of his life, NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER documented, and no even fifth hand stories of his existence outside the bible.
ZaneStuart
Not a show I watch regularly but after this I had to see for myself. Yup, those OMM b*****s are once again full of sh**. The story is about how the glee club gets the one person who “should” play Mary to do so. Those OMM brainless birthing units screw up everything.
ZaneStuart
@zoompietro: Christmas isn’t the only holiday the Christians misappropriated. Easter readily comes to mind.
PARKAVMAN
They didn’t watch, they don’t get the context. BUT, how long are we going to have to tolerate One Million Moms (for Hate)
corey
Why don’t they just not watch the show? I am sure there are more productive things to do with their time; volunteer at a soup kitchen, take a car-less elderly patient to an appointment so they don’t have take a taxi or pub transportation, clean up the neighborhood parks, bake some cakes to raffle off and donate the money to a needy family who will loose their unemployment after Christmas because of their conservative friends in Congress…etc
zoompietro
@ZaneStuart: You’re absolutely right, don’t even get me started on how much they’ve borrowed/stolen/beaten from other (often pagan) religions and rituals. Then they claim it originated from their beliefs and get into a hissy if someone “disrespects” it.
jimpatrick
I enjoyed the show.
ShowMeGuy
IT was a non-event. Mothers Against Anything Fun In America must be getting lazy. They can’t find anything really scandalous to freak out about.
TheNewEnergyDude
That last paragraph reads hilariously…makes me actually want to tune into the show (nah, have never seen an episode).

These OMM are part of the new “Tsk tsk” disapprovalist right wing. Their only purpose in life is to disapprove of what everyone else is doing. Witness the “Tsk tsk” Teapartiers in Congress who just expressed their disapproval of the Ryan/Murray budget compromise BEFORE it had even been written. They didn’t know what it was, but that didn’t dissuade them from their purpose, which is to DISAPPROVE!
The motto of the Disapprovalist Right Wing (of which the TP, OMM and NOM are members) is: “Whatever YOU do, WE’RE against it!”
jwtraveler
@ShowMeGuy: I assume it’s not an accident that that spells out MAAFIA.
remyfacade
I don’t think that the people who are saying negative things about the “transgender Mary” actually saw the full episode. There was a point to it. People need to stop complaining, and protesting….FASHIST MUCH
