WATCH: Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer Flies High With “Defying Gravity”

It was inevitable that Wicked‘s anthemic “Defying Gravity” would be co-opted into a power ballad for bullied reindeer Rudolph and his buddy Blitzen (both sung here by red-nosed performer Matthew Gordon).

In this scenario, Santa has just informed Rudolph that he will guide his sleigh through the foggy night skies. Blitzen is not having it, but through the magic powers of a well-chosen show tune, Rudolph is able to convince his pal that this is his moment to, ahem, shine. We hope they’re happy now.
