If you still long to hear the musings of a 40-something gal in the Big Apple, Velvet Rage Productions has resurrected one of gaydom’s favorite quartets with Sex and the City: Live!, a weekly re-enactment of the classic HBO series, being held at San Francisco’s Rebel nightclub.
Legendary SF drag queen Heklina dons her blond fright wig to channel Carrie Bradshaw every Wednesday starting January 16, with Lady Bear as Miranda Hobbes, Trixie Carr as Charlotte York, and D’Arcy Drollinger as Samantha Jones. Each performance will feature two episodes based on the gay-fave series, which ran from 1998 to 2004.
Samantha Jones as a drag queen—isn’t that a little redundant?
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Sex and the City: Live! runs 7pm and 9pm every Wednesday, starting January 16, at Rebel, 1760 Market Street in San Francisco.

The sad thing is that she’s actually more attractive than Sarah Jessica Horseface.

How original: dressing up as a caricature of a woman. Moving forward?

@ NILES This is a great show, the drag element really brings the scripts of Sex In The City to life in a fresh way. It’s subversive in nature and therefore interesting. I hope you get to see it and have a real critique, instead of pre-judging based on your idea’s. They are being caricatures for good reason, not just because and yes we are moving forward.
