WATCH: Stormtroopers Take Gay Love To The Dark Side In Stars Wars Spoof

We don’t know what’s funnier: Star Wars characters with Spanish accents or a lovers’ tiff between gay Imperial Stormtroopers. (How do they even know what each other look like under their gear?)

Love Wars, directed by Vicente Bonet and featuring the voices of popular Spanish actors Jordi Sanchez and Ivan Jara, tackles subjects like homophobia, commitment and the 2011 Spanish Revolution against the star backdrop of the Death Star. It’s been entered in the 10th annual NotodoFilmfest, happening later this year.

We can’t help but wonder: Do they have marriage equality on Tatooine?

I seem to remember that the stormtroopers are supposed to be clones. So they should all look alike with armor off as well as on. Which brings to mind some articles Queerty ran a while back about “twincest…”

“Do they have marriage equality on Tatooine?”

Sort of – gays can get married there, but only on days when one sun eclipses the other. It’s due to an ancient religious myth that, when the two suns appeared to overlap in the sky, that meant that their two sun gods were getting it on, making it a particularly auspicious time for same-sex couples to be married.

Aren’t storm troopers all clones of the same person? What’s that, clonecest?

@Eric: Nah. By the Battle of Yavin, clones are a minority among stormtroopers.

It’s kind of an amusing allegory of the conflict between conservative gay men who want to maintain the status quo, even though it means they are un-free, and those of us who see freedom is paramount.

Perfectly on-topic, reasonable comment with no naughty words in it, before any others in this thread… and the [insert language here] filter not only blocked it, but for some inexplicable reason its doing so also stopped me from being subscribed to the thread. Boo!

All right, see if this works…

I seem to remember that the stormtroopers are supposed to be clones. So they should all look alike with armor off as well as on. Which brings to mind some articles Queerty ran a while back about “twincest…”

@hyhybt: By the time of Episode IV, clones of Jango Fett are a minority (about a third) of all stormtroopers.

Not sure about Tatooine, but I’d imagine the neutral Hutt planets like Nar Shada and Hutta probably have marriage equality lol.
