Vintage television commercials are always good for a laugh or two. In this 1967 spot for Ivory dishwashing liquid, 38-year-old hausfrau Hilary Byk is able to sneak into a teenage party because using Ivory has kept her hands young and supple. (Ask Rachel Zoe and Madonna about the heartbreak of prematurely grisly talons.)
We’re not sure what’s more unintentionally funny here: The mom’s glassy-eyed delivery or the pitchman’s constant reference to “creamy” hands. Maybe you could tell us how it does on dishes?
