The new gay American indie, The Perfect Wedding, employs the Christmas holidays as the setting for a cute romance with a backdrop of PFLAG-family love. Hunky Eric Aragon stars as Paul, a charming recovering alcoholic whose attraction to Gavin (Jason T. Gaffney) flares up over the course of a Christmas weekend with Paul’s family as they are in the midst of planning the wedding of his sister Alana (Apolonia Davalos).
The film’s ensemble cast also includes veteran actor James Rebhorn (Independence Day, 30 Rock) and Kristine Sutherland (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as the ultimate PFLAG parents. Co-written by Suzanne Brockman and Ed Gaffney (who also happen to be the parents of the film’s star, Jason T. Gaffney), The Perfect Wedding is a heartwarming tale, taking it as a given that the characters are fully embraced by their loving larger family.
Out today on VOD and digital, The Perfect Wedding is this week’s WolfeOnDemand.com Movie of the Week. Watch the trailer above and rent or download it directly from WolfeOnDemand.com or other fine VOD platforms today (and look for it on DVD December 3rd).
