Wow! If you haven’t been keeping up with Minnie Cooper on the eighth season of Australia’s Got Talent, it’s time to start paying some attention to this amazingly talented Australian drag queen.
For the semi-finals, Minnie and her backup dancers (known as the “Teeny Tiny Tappers”) astonish the judges with an upbeat dance number to the song “Friend Like Me” from Disney’s Aladdin.
Once again, the judges were blown away by Minnie’s performance and she received a standing ovation and raving feedback.
“You are one of the most mesmerizing acts I think we’ve seen on this show,” remarked Kelly Osbourne, one of the four judges, “I can’t take my eyes off of you. It really is a true art what you guys do.”
How about we take this to the next level?

If I say so myself, we Australians know how to do drag. It really is part of our general culture. In the early 1970’s my parents would go out to dinner and then take in a drag show caberet act and they were not exactly swinging hipsters. Great show Minnie and her Teeny Tappers!

I am so sick of drag queens. They do not represent male homosexuality. I see no male homosexuality in this act.
In Australia, you have this really anti-male homosexual streak even with the gay community. They are so homophobic, they are using drag queens in general to erase or crowd out images of male homosexuality.
Brian
@andrewl: But many Australians do not take male homosexual desire seriously and use drag queens to erase images of male homosexuality from the conversation. Drag queen acceptance does not equal acceptance of male homosexual desire.

What you say Brian is very true, enjoying drag performances certainly does not necessarily translate to gay acceptance. Minnie Cooper’s performance simply reminded me of other great drag acts here in Australia over the years.

@Brian it was just entertainment & not a statement on male homosexuality, lighten up dude
