In a cheeky Internet comedy video called “It Doesn’t Get Better,” YouTube celebrities including Shane Dawson, Glozell, and Tyler Oakley blast homophobes who refuse to realize they’re on the losing side of the fight for equality.
It’s a bit absurd, but pretty funny throughout. Plus, it’s for a good cause: The t-shirt website FCKH8.com has pledged to donate 10 cents for every Facebook share and tweet and will donate up to $10,000 to H8SUX.com, a project giving thousands of free “OK4U2BGAY” T-shirts to teens to fight bullies and suicide in schools.
LOLs ‘n funnee t-shrtz 4 eqlty!

I’m really not a fan of these videos. I appreciate their intent, but what homophobe is ever going to see their videos? What person “on the fence,” as it were, wants to be screamed at at or swore at by these loud, in-your-face people?
Evan Mulvihill
@Kamuriie: I think they appeal to teens who think it’s cool to say things “suck” and are “lame,” so they’re sort of using those methods to define that it’s totally “cool” to be gay.
Larkin
It’s not for the homophobes… it for the queers.
Bob
Sorry, but I do not think that a homophobe, even if he/she were to be able to get through watching this, would change their mind by having a bunch of sterotype queens screaming in their faces. If anything, they may hate us even more!
Jack
So a bunch of tired gay stereotypes are the answer to homophobia?
Adrian
I gave it a second try, and still I could not make myself watch this video all the way to the end.
no thanks.
I must not be the demographic they are after.
Ester Goldberg
its Videos like this that make me want to bully my own kind…Sorry
Q
Embarrassing
TJ
Oy Vey – just shut these queens up!
Steffen L. Norgren
@Bob Hell, I’m gay and I couldn’t get through watching the whole thing…
Andrew
Man this is very embarassing and these people give LGBT people a bad name. Also bigots and homophobes and bipbobic/transphobic people are not going to watch them or care about them.
stevoj
i appreciate the intent but this video was a bit much… and if they were trying to reach the youth they could have used a more tame method
i tried to watch all of it too but i just couldn’t; am i that old?
B
Re “i tried to watch all of it too but i just couldn’t; am i that old?”
Being older than 13 or 14 would suffice. Regardless, I shut it off as well. Queerty should have shortened the clip to 3 to 5 seconds.
Riker
@Jack: They’re not stereotypes, they’re people. Real people like that actually exist, get over it.

I haven’t watched the video, but while everyone’s bashing them for being stereotypes (and I don’t doubt that some would be, take a look around), bear in mind all the Queerty posters who troll the blogs looking for the flimsiest excuses to bash Dan Savage and anyone who’d ever do an “It Gets Better” video, arguing that every teen suicide is further proof the effort is a miserable failure. For a moment, I thought this was really biting satire, mocking those cynical queers who don’t want gay kids to get their hopes up for a better life than being a 13-year-old in middle school. (They think this, presumably, because they and their friends still act more or less like a bunch of 13-year-olds in middle school now that they’re 22, or 42, or 62.) As if the empathetic celebrities in the IGB videos, and not these and other cynical haters gay and straight alike, are the ones to blame.

Ugh. Once upon a time homos were Francis Bacon and DaVinci and……And now they’re this pink-and-blue tackiness.
BlackRockRitual
It doesn’t bother me that much. It’s at least nice seeing some people mock homophobes.
On the other hand, yeah, I’m not all that fond of such loundness. I think it’s a generational thing. How do you like the current pop culture?
Not me much. Not me much…
