Yes, homosexual American Idol contestant is still causing Paula Abdul to seize while in a standing position. It’s a weekly repeat at this point. Last night’s “Born To Be Wild” rendition, complete with high-pitched shrieking on the part of Mr. Lambert, was met with convulsions by Ms. Abdul and less favorable esteem from a one Simon Cowell. Now if someone could explain what the hell Quentin Tarantino was doing there, it’d make for a more interesting story.

First of all Tartantino is an icon of the film world. Since this week is “Favorite song from a movie” it is a pretty clear connection. 2nd of all Adam wasn’t shrieking any more than any other rocker does. It was a brilliant performance which Simon found vocally incredible but didn’t like the theatrics.

I don’t know how they do it but somehow they HAVE to be able to measure the ratings they get with these “joke” performers (anyone remember Sanjaya, who is the reason I quit watching) to come out week after week and can’t/won’t explain how they keep their spots until the last 3 or four shows left of the season.
Good lord. And to think I laughed (along with most other reasonable gay men) at Ricky Martin when the only place left where you did not see his face on was toilet paper.
Mark
that was excruciating to watch.

I was confused about Tarantino at first too, but it does make sense when you think about it. Like Raven said, hes a big deal in the film industry(apparently, anyway) and it was movie songs, and they had him on in a previous season, so it’s not that weird that he was the mentor. (after all, all the mentors really do is listen to and then say nice things about the contestant anyway)
I thought Adam did wonderful, he looked and sounded great!
I think the comparison of Adam to Sanjaya is completely ridiculous. Adam is in no way a “joke performer”, he is very talented. (Sanjaya was not. At all.)
And Simon didn’t dislike it, he just didn’t think it was as good as last weeks performance of “Mad World” (and it wasn’t!)

Adam Lambert has talent and is always a pleasure to watch.
I enjoyed his performance last night.

he sang in his chest voice!! he sang in his chest voice!!!
i am appeased. a-lam ftw.

btw the band clearly LOVES him — professional musicians don’t headbang for just anyone.

Simon got it right..last week was a far better performance…however, this week was a good performance…he does better when he strips away the over the top vocals and does more what he did last week…down deep raw emotions and underplays the voice so that it brings out his talent….less is more and amazingly so for him. Just like when he did the Smokey Robinson song..when he makes himself vulnerable and not so stereotypical rocker…he blows everyone else out of the water.
As to the make up..I don’t understand the objection..in prior posts the objections raised stunned me…because str8 rockers wear make up all the time and not one comment about it..so why is this different?
I think he will be in the top 2 performers..the other one I am hoping is Kris Allen. I feel bad for Matt Giraurd who should stick to the soul/jazz side of his performances….the combo stuff of rock and soul doesn’t work for him.
I do have to admit that Danny Goakley has an ok voice at times but I find him to be a kiss ass with the Judges and I don’t think he is a stand out.
The 16 year old female is more a “Pink” style performer but someone better get her some Gays to give her a make over…she always comes out as a mess in a dress in looks and hair.
Beyond that and the rest of the performers are boring…how the heck did Lil Rounds ever make it into the final 13? she sucks…and gets worse by the week and is still in it…
Adam is a huge stand out compared to the rest of them and a huge stand out compared to most seasons…with some good record management (Clive Davis handling his career) he will be fine…
As an overall singer he will do more then fine. I also think Kris Allen also has a pure voice and also will do fine….he does best when he sings from his soul and heart and hits some raw emotions…

@gurlene: Adam isn’t a joke performer, are you insane?

oh god this was a blast from the past- the height of the 80’s glam rock that i despise. head banging? on American Idol?
go back to singing softly please! I actually really like him, just not his penchant for dramatic shrieks.
pop
loved this performance – as simon said the vocals were incredible. lol at his reaction when he mentioned the rocky horror show. oh simon, you say this like it’s a bad thing.
@rogue dandelion: well, if you despise 80’s glam rock then i’m not sure how much you can “really like him”. the boy’s about 50% glam rock, and the other 50% is some strange homemade mixture of his own concoction.

I find it hard to summon any feelings on the topic of American Idol.

I do not understand the disdain for this young man except that you guys are really internally homophobic. He is wonderful and so gay and soooooooooooo talented. His form of singing is an art form in the glam rock form of that world (what y’all are calling shreiking). I do think Mad World was much better than Born to Be Wild but Adam is not necessarily trying to be original and creative as much as he is trying to win a competition. Get over it. Vote for the gay guy.

You guys have got to be kidding with the antigay comments. This is a fucking gay site. The fact that Lambert has long ago channeled his inner diva, and has no problem whatsoever coming out on the international TV stage and flaming out for all the world to see, should give all of us hope. Not only that, everyone and their mother by now knows he’s gay, and NO ONE CARES. Is that progress or what? You tell me. Lay off my Adam, bitches! He’s the greatest!

@Mattbydesign: Or, say, Star Search, for that matter.
