We Have Our First Black President. What About Arkansas' First Black Governor?

"Congressman Artur Davis is running to become Alabama's first black governor. The Democrat made the formal announcement Friday in Birmingham. Davis was an early supporter of Barack Obama's bid for president and the men share several similarities. Both are Harvard-educated lawyers in their 40s, and Davis is hoping to make history like Obama, the nation's first black president." [AP]

I think the heading should read Alabama, not Arkansas.

Regardless Ala, or Ark.

The South is not totally ready for diversity. UNFORTUNATELY! But I wish him well.

All,

Artur Davis is the most Anti-Gay Congressman in the Congressional Black Caucus. He actively opposes every single Gay civil rights bill in the Congress. There is absolutely no difference between Artur Davis and the Republicans in Alabama on Gay issues.

If Davis is the Democratic nominee, and he will be, we will be advocating a undervote campaign.

Investigate Artur Davis before cheerleading him. Sure he is black, but an Artur Davis governorship would be a step back for equality, not a step forward.
