We love Ashlee and Britney and all the young pop tarts out there. Don’t get us wrong. But sometimes we want our girl pop to have a little angst, to feel something deep. We want some originality and we want to sing along. We are done with bubble gum. For now.
This is why we like The Like. They are offspring of Hollywood music scene big timers (one member’s dad is in Elvis Costello’s Attractions). But that and the glorious harmonies are the only similarities shared with Wilson Phillips. These girls rock. They are not easy listening.
The Like also write their own music, play their instruments, and are hot to boot! What more can you ask for in a girl group where the average age is 19? It is U2 meets ABBA and we are Liking it, a lot.
