With all the cash that HRC has been collecting he should be the best dressed in D.C.

I think the award was appropriate – Solmonese makes a better clothes-horse than civil rights advocate. But then, so does Ann Coulter.

I’m sorry but I don’t think I’d ever step out my front door dressed as badly as this. Crewcut sweater, really? And I don’t think his suits could get more boring if his granny had knitted him them for christmas. This is stupid.

We pay him pretty well. But if he gets a plum job in the Administration to reward him for making us the Cinderellas of the Democratic Party, cunt will have to spend a lot less. Maybe he will be forced to send his shopper to Brooks Brothers.

Other blogs were kind of mocking him for this as well.

Washington: Hollywood for ugly people. Not hard to stand out as a good-looking clothes horse in that early-bird town.

Queerty, this is actually one of the best takes on this story.

I think his pay should be tied into legislative sucess. He said DADT would go down this year, fine, if it doesn’t knock $100,000 of his salary. Additionally, just how many black tie events has he gone to since he got the job. He is just using this job to act like a big shot around DC. He shouldn’t have time to buy a different $2500.00 outfit every week for another event. Hell Obama was having his shoes resoled during the campaign and this guy who does nothing is buying D&G tuxes like he’s a bride at a basement wedding dress sale.

I do not understand the snarky comments our community is making about Mr. Solmonese. As we all know, obtaining equal rights is a multifaceted problem only solved by a multi-pronged approach.

There is nothing more ineffective than expecting cocktail-party activism to move us forward without doing the hard haberdashery work required to underpin it. Who among us hasn’t seen just the right zinging one-liner that would inspire a Congresscritter to change his vote fall flat, overpowered by a fashion faux pas.

I’m glad he’s having so much fun running the Human Rights Champagne.

I’m also glad that I stopped giving to his sartorial fund years ago. I’d rather it go to a group that fights for my rights instead of hobnobbing with A-listers and gay icons.
