OUTFIT: Casual black crew neck sweater
LOCATION: GLAAD panel at Sundance, Jan. 24, 2010
ON THE PLUS SIDE: He fits the business casual mood of the event
AND YET: Seated too far away to catch the red backdrop behind him, he blends into the ether, sort of like his lobbying

Other blogs were kind of mocking him for this as well.

I think his pay should be tied into legislative sucess. He said DADT would go down this year, fine, if it doesn’t knock $100,000 of his salary. Additionally, just how many black tie events has he gone to since he got the job. He is just using this job to act like a big shot around DC. He shouldn’t have time to buy a different $2500.00 outfit every week for another event. Hell Obama was having his shoes resoled during the campaign and this guy who does nothing is buying D&G tuxes like he’s a bride at a basement wedding dress sale.

I do not understand the snarky comments our community is making about Mr. Solmonese. As we all know, obtaining equal rights is a multifaceted problem only solved by a multi-pronged approach.
There is nothing more ineffective than expecting cocktail-party activism to move us forward without doing the hard haberdashery work required to underpin it. Who among us hasn’t seen just the right zinging one-liner that would inspire a Congresscritter to change his vote fall flat, overpowered by a fashion faux pas.

You have no idea how much this made me laugh. Thanks for the compliments!

I’m glad he’s having so much fun running the Human Rights Champagne.
I’m also glad that I stopped giving to his sartorial fund years ago. I’d rather it go to a group that fights for my rights instead of hobnobbing with A-listers and gay icons.

With all the cash that HRC has been collecting he should be the best dressed in D.C.
