Ooh girl, the Elena Kagan Is a Heterosexual Saga has made the Times fashion pages! And not because Kagan is going to become the next Michelle Obama and dictate sensible J. Crew style in Vogue.
Kagan is unmarried, without kids, and battling lesbian rumors. Apparently all of this speculation indicates that we as a society have yet to move beyond stereotypes. Or we aren’t feminist enough. Actually, I don’t know what this article is trying to say! But it did give the newspaper editors there a chance to finally get a nice string of chunky pearls into the Times Styles section, and that alone is an accomplishment.
