who cares how old he was when he came out? ricky isn’t a stupid man. he knew people knew he was gay. heterosexuals do not make announcements that they are straight so why do homosexuals have to? because the public demands it and the public will not give you your props until you meet their demands (and even then you may not get the respect you deserve)! in my opinion ricky was sending a message to everyone by keeping quiet: do not judge. i think he finally decided to say something now because he just wants people to finally get the hell over it an move on.
i just can’t understand why some gay people are giving ricky a hard time by not coming out sooner. it’s his life, right? let him live it. no one should ever have to announce their sexuality. it should be a non-issue in this day and age. and instead of ripping someone down for admitting their are gay, you should stand behind them and be supportive. how is this world going to change without solidarity?

He is trying to deflect attention from the gossip going around. He is also showing a new picture of his kids to try to get people to like him.
