I’ve often wondered, if the ship is named after a man, such as the Nimitz or the Edmund Fitzgerald, is it referred to as a “he” or a “she”?

Traditionally, English speakers use “she” even for masculine-named ships…even warships. The Germans use the masculine for warships.

Initially I read this and thought it was about Partner’s .. and when to use he/she when referring to your partner in a work situation.

Just goes to show that on Sunday mornings I need to have more coffee than usual to get the brain running.
