      ugh, I hate it when the phrase “sexual preference” is used to refer to someone’s sexual orientation.

      I love Matthew Mitcham but you’ll never find a headline saying, “Straight Olympic athlete Michael Phelps wins 8 gold medals.” I mean Matthew Mitcham will do a great job for gay youth as a role model, I just think every headline involving Matthew shouldn’t be mostly based on his sexuality because he’s an athlete. He deserves his medals to speak louder then the even louder gay headlines.
