With any blind item, ask yourself how many of the author's prior blinds have been confirmed. How many items died on the vine? The original author doesn't have a grand track record; c.f. her nonsense after Anna Nicole Smith died..
One trick they use is the red herring—if something appears obvious, then you're probably on the wrong track. Do we know it's a movie actor? Why not stage or TV? Commercials?

@ James Cambridge: Sorry for the false assumption. I don't find Liam too hot, either, really. I am nearly 40, and like both younger and older guys, but Liam's fairly obvious rug is a bit of a turnoff.
