I have always thought that heterosexual service members should be the most vocal opponents of DADT, because what the policy really states is that our Service Members suffer from such crippling fear and biggotry that they are unable to perform their duties in the presence of homosexuals; Which I believe is a very insulting thing to say to them.

Joe #2 – I’ll fess up right now I’ve not been in the military but I do read A LOT. Unfortunately it is not the actions of just a few, but your point is taken that it isn’t everybody. However, the problem is A. Everyone knows going in you’re not supposed to be Gay, they ask you repeatedly (I did almost sign up for the Air National Guard. (B). Problem 2 is how the upper brass handles issues. Remember Tailhook.

So, don’t be so sensitive. This issue is a HUGE problem for the military.

Uh…Canada? You didn’t need to go half way around the world to find an inclusive military. Canadian soldiers are even permitted to marry–on their bases!

I’m a moderate person but it just infuriated me when idiots like Conrad(above) equate the actions of a few to the whole military. Isn’t that what they are doing to us and we fault them for comparing a few bad gay’s to all of us. Conrad bitches about bigotry but then spews it himself. The only way we are going to prevail is to become ethically superior to the haters and abandon the haters in our own community, like Conrad and Perez

why are americans hell bent on joining the military when there has been recent photographic evidence showing american soldiers raping, sodomizing and torturing other male detainees in iraq. the us military is the epitomee of homophobia, anti-queer violence, and sexual violence.

fuck the us military. lets the straights have the military in all its disgusting inhumane degrading glory.

like they used to say in the 90s, “homosexual not homicidal, fuck the military!”
