Pop music hasn’t sunk, it has always been garbage aimed literally at children.

      Be more cynical.

If the only thing she ever sang was her version of The Star Spangled Banner, she’d still be among the greats of all time, IMO and I don’t even care that she allegedly lip-synched it. It was the best.

I think Cissy was a good mother. Whitney was an adult and did what she was going to do.
None of Cissy’s interventions lasted. Bobby Brown may have not have gotten her started on drugs, but he sure as hell didn’t help.

Whitney was Cissy’s blank canvas and she taught her well.

Some of my best musical memories is sitting in small clubs in NYC listening to Cissy. Sometimes a very young Whitney was one of her backups. Cissy gave one of the greatest performances ever to a packed house at Radio City.

I only hope that we don’t read a very sad article soon about Bobby Kris. It appears she’s headed for a fall and with all the money she will come into very soon, it may be a very hard fall.

the fact that you even mentioned Rihanna in this article makes absolutely no sense. there is no comparison whatsoever in terms of lyrical ability, talent, and iconography…

that being said, Rihanna knows what her brand is and she knows how to sell it
