WHOOPS! Canadian TV Station Accidentally Airs Gay Porn

A Canadian television station turned X-rated briefly on Friday when it accidentally interrupted a Friday-morning newscast with a three-minute snippet of hardcore gay porn. Mike Katrycz, news director for Ontario’s CHCH Television, explained that the mistake was the fault of Shaw Cable, which distributes the network’s signal. (CHCH is owned by Channel Zero, which also streams adult movies.)

In an on-air apology, Katrycz explained:

“First of all, we would like to apologize to our viewers. This was a problem that originated, not at CHCH, but at a cable company. Apparently some cable lines had been cut, and in the splicing back together some inappropriate content went to air. Again it was beyond the control of CHCH, but we do apologize to our viewers.”

The porn—actually a scene from Lucas Entertainment’s After Hours (above)might’ve ruffled some viewers’ feathers, but it could’ve been worse: They could have accidentally spliced in three minutes of Kathie Lee and Hoda on the Today.
