Why Is Rachel Maddow Patting A Fox Newser On The Back?

Rachel Maddow might spend much of her time attacking Fox News as nothing more than a Republican political machine, but she does sometimes raise a glass for the enemy. So long as his name is Shep Smith.

“All hail Shep Smith at Fox News and I’m not kidding” she told viewers last night, citing Smith’s blatant call out of all lawmakers, even GOP ones, who got in the way of passing the 9/11 first-responders healthcare bill in a cheap political stunt to hold Democrats hostage. This, kids, is what we call “crossing the aisle.”
