Time magazine, the news weekly that’s slightly less awful than Newsweek, published an entire cover story on the state of marriage in America … and forgot to mention The Gays. “I guess, the story we were trying to tell is a different story, one we thought had been less explored than the fight over gay marriage. It’s about how the way we practice marriage now is changing the economics of our society. While the fight over gay marriage is a very big deal, we felt we had told that story pretty well elsewhere, dating back to 2004,” says reporter Belinda Luscombe, evidently concluding that stories about the current state of warfare don’t have to mention Iraq or Afghanistan, because hey, those things get covered all the time. Well, there are plenty of wars in Africa that are getting ignored because of the over reported wars in afghanistan and iraq….

These old-styled magazines are fast becoming obsolete just like their definition of marriage.

I am such a huge dingbat. Am I to understand that California already has a domestic partnership law? And we’ve wasted all these resources there instead of on enda. Oh my sweet Autumn melancholy. The self destructive crowd have done it to us again.
If only I could make the argument in court today.
‘Your honor, let me reference the landmark case of Drag Queen v Mary Girl. There it was definitely shown that Jungle Red lip stick should only be used with pink blush, and since we already have domestic partnership far queers in this State, denying them marraige is illogical and unfair. Case closed.’
Now who can argue with that?

Ug, how many times must it be said; it’s about Marriage Equality for Gay Americans NOT ‘gay marriage’. Would I ask the African-American couple down the street, “Hey how’s your BLACK marriage going?” Of course not, and to do the same by saying ‘gay marriage’ is to separate it from the norm from the get-go.

@Ian
You really expect people to refer to it as “Marriage Equality for Gay Americans” in casual conversation? Gay marriage gets the point across just as well with a quarter of the syllables.

@SpiffyShindigs: Hey Spiffy, I’m w/ Ian on this one… the very point is that we refer to “marriage equality” and by inference, marriage INEQUALITY, not ‘gay-marriage’ Get it? If you still don’t, ask a friend, seriously.

@SpiffyShindigs: or just Marriage Equality. And fuck “wasting Time”.
