Close to the airport on the north side of the island, The Hato Caves are more than 200,000 years old and part of a larger park that’s one of the most beautiful and mysterious spots on the island. Home to awe-inspiring limestone formations, the caves were once home to the Amerindian Arawaks, who left cave drawings which are still visible some 1,500 years later.
There’s something oddly romantic about going on the Hato Cave tour with someone you love. Steal a kiss below the stalactites but don’t lag behind your group—you don’t want to miss the amazing cave drawings and rock formations (like the fabulous Madonna statue). But If things get dark or you get a chill up your spine it’s okay to hold hands with your significant other.
