Corpus Christi, Terrence McNally’s Jesus-as-a-gay play that Tarleton State University canceled, is now being attacked at Gallaudet University, the school for the deaf in Washington D.C. created by Congress and founded under President Abraham Lincoln — courtesy protests from “concerned parents.” That would be concerned parents, led by something called the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property, who don’t want taxpayers, who fund some 70 percent of Gallaudet’s budget, funding any gay-themed art.

“Blasphemy does not qualify as free speech,” (OH, YES IT DOES!!!!) said TFP Student Action director John Ritchie. “Just as everyone is entitled to their own good reputation, Gallaudet University has no right to harm and slander the spotless reputation of the God-Man with blasphemy, then run to academic freedom for cover.”
I call on Gallaudet University to ensure the principles of academic freedom are preserved.

We are seeing a *theme* here: protesters bringing MORE attention 2 artistic productions by speaking OUT about their being offended THAN if they kept their mouths shut:
**Trannies with Knives movie @ Tribeca, which most people would of NOT even heard of without the PC patrol hollering
**Photo show in Spain about Gay jesus; artist got MORE attention by show closing than if it stayed open
**Texan colllege play about Gay Jesus not shown on campus to classmates but draws NATIONAL attention & gets offers to show play elsewheres
**Gallaudet play about Homogay Jesus gets protested in Wash. DC & suddenly becomes a rallying point 4 supporters of free speech!!
Lesson learned: if u hate something STFUP & no one else will really care about it. If u get all noisy then u PROMOTE the *thing u hate*

Why is it never controversial that Jesus is always presented, and assumed to have been a blue eyed scandanavian man?
Arkano18
@Afrolito: That might be because Jesus™ (and all the religions supported by Jesus™ Inc.) represents what people should be. Did you know that Mormons think/believe that you get your race depending on how much “you” (your everlasting soul) accepted the “terms” for you to come here to Earth. So, let’s say you accepted everything: you’re gonna be born blond and blue eyed; then if you were (for example) someone who thought Cain was cool, then you get Cain’s mark: the dark skin. So, basically they say african-american, indian, etc., are selectively ordained to have that skin color, which will tell what kind of “soul” dwells in that kind of body. Really creep, if you ask me.
So, christian church have always represented Jesus as some European hunk: blue eyed, tall, long straight-hair, cute fellah. He was almost taken from a Bellami casting. Several studies reveal that he came from a race originally placed in Nigeria, so is highly probable that he had some african genes mixed with Semite genes. I think that’s a cool Jesus: a guy who looks like almost all of us.
Well, regarding the deaf Jesus play, I think is cool that art shows different points of view on what everybody taked for granted. That’s exactly what art should do.

@afrolito: Jesus is portrayed as caucasian so that White Supremacists wont have to explain why they have pictures of a nonwhite guy on the wall! Lol….
i went backpacking in Sicily a few years ago. Many southern italians have medium to dark skin, most have black hair, but the holy pictures they sell in the catholic churches all have blondie Jesus in them.
i asked two nuns the question WHY & they totally back peddalled ! No answer…
