After being pushed back three times, the Illinois House is expected to finally take up HB2234, which would grant same-sex couples the right to get civil unionized! Chicago’s Democratic Rep. Greg Harris, who’s behind the bill, got approval from committee but says he’s still counting the votes to see if he’s got enough to pass it through the House floor (he needs 60). His peers appear to be lingering in declaring their support for the gays. But Harris has only until May 30 to get his colleagues to vote this time around. HRC has the numbers to call your state rep.

I hope so, it’s the 21st Century. There’s no reason to not allow Gays & Lesbians to get married really. It doesnt matter what sex you or your partner are, because love knows no gender.

Why isn’t this site full of rhetoric about hateful anti-gay activists in Illinois promoting separate-but-equal?
