The City of Los Angeles lost another celebrity power couple to the mean streets of New York City this week.
Adorable out actor Neil Patrick Harris announced on Twitter Tuesday that his “wonderful west coast days are done”, and that he’ll be moving to New York City permanently with hubby David Burtka and their two-year-old twins Gideon and Harper.
The couple revealed in April 2013 that they’d be moving to the city’s Harlem neighborhood for the sake of their children. Also, because NPH will be starring in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway this Spring.
“Our plan is to reroute ourselves and have our kids start to go to school here,” Harris told Us. “We’re at that age where we need to figure out where our kids are going to be educated.”
How about we take this to the next level?

I'm officially heading East. My wonderful west coast days are done. #goodtimes

The pair was spotted with tons of luggage at New York’s JFK Airport on Tuesday.
All very exciting news, of course, but not half as exciting as the prospect of the happy couple starring alongside recent NYC transplant Perez Hilton in the new Gay Dads of New York reality series!
Hilton announced in December that he’d partnered with Bunim/Murray Productions to “lift the curtain on gay fatherhood” in a reality series that would follow a group of gay dads, single and married, in New York City.
Bunim/Murry is currently casting the series and no major announcements have been made since the initial press release in December, but NPH did say “we hope that work finds us” in that Us interview.
We’re basing this on pure speculation, but you have to admit, Harris and Burtka’s cross-country move perfectly coordinates with a production schedule that began casting in December. Plus, they’d be so cute on a show about gay dads!
What do you think? Which other gay dads should join the cast?

Did we not learn anything from A-List: New York/Texas/whatever? I don’t care to be reminded of how fab life is for the elite gays.

I find it highly unlikely Neil and David would do this show. They don’t need the money, and they know reality tv makes people look really, really messy. Perez Hilton is a perfect candidate. NPH? Not so much.
BTW, I’d love if Live got rid of Michael Straihan and hired NPH as Kelly’s co-host. They have incredible chemistry.
Finally, I wanted to say that I met David and the twins at a restaurant in Harlem last year. He’s so sweet, the twins are terrific, and I’m so happy for the whole family. They have a townhouse if I remember correctly, and I totally understand why they’d want a quieter and more stable life for their children. The part of town they live in is rejuvenated, full of parks, old architecture, quiet streets, and hip restaurants. Keep in mind I’m a New Yorker, so I’m biased, but I totally get why they’d trade in that LA mess for their beautiful next chapter.

Plus they both look a bit faded….

if they want to stay together- they will say NO to reality show!!!!!! Neil had to make plenty of money on his show and is now on Broadway- why on Earth would they jeopardize their marriage- all reality marriages crash within a year or two!!!!!

Ok, I get that producers of these shows seem to think for some reason that following the model of “Bad Girls Club” is far better than trying to do an actual show that is interesting.
But PLEASE, if they are going to do a show about gay dads, PLEASE put some people in there that the audience actually can like and not a bunch of people like any of the “Real Housewives”.
