I would point out that we’ve made a tremendous amount of progress on this. This is a policy that’s been in place for quite a long time, and as we’ve seen on other issues change is hard. But that said, what we’ve seen is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense both come out in support of this change, and we’re moving with as much speed as possible to see that it’s done.

Not anymore. GetEqual took care of that.
Steve
Obama wanted the bone he threw to us last week would be enough for the year. Unfortunately, these dogs actually understand plain English, and remember specific promises.
“Don’t Ask, Don’t Give” will expire when DADT is repealed, not before. That can be before the next election, or not. It’s up to Obama.
David Cornish
The democrats don’t need our money. Are you that delusional? If he ditches us he just can take Christian money instead. They have a lot more money than we do.
I think we’ve lost Obama for the next year. Embarrassing him at a fund-raiser was just plain stupid. Then we add Choi’s repeat performance with the silly handcuff stunt and I am certain Obama has said why even bother with these misfits.

Thanks GetEQUAL for making headlines and stepping up the pressure. The only way to get him to commit is give him pressure!

@David Cornish:
When, exactly, did we ever really have Obama to begin with?
He tosses a lot of nice words our way, he’s tossed us a couple of table scraps to shut us up…But in terms of real, significant, concrete action in regards to getting meaningful gay rights legislation passed, what has he done?
Hyhybt
@Devon: The hate crimes law wasn’t meaningful? I mean, sure, it had been floating around Congress for years, but even had it passed, neither Bush nor McCain would have signed it.
