Queerty is better as a member
All three are too early to get engaged. Give the guys a break and some time!
On the bright side, I’m sure whatever happens with this couple it won’t be as stupid or publicly dramatic as whatever the next hot mess of PR that Johnny Weir and his ex will vomit up onto the media sometime soon.
They haven’t even been dating for a year (it’s more like half a year). Who cares? This is one of the furthest things from a “burning question” that I can think of.
Well judging from comments Tom made when he came out, they must have been dating about a year now.
As long Tom is happy I don’t care…
Yep, I’ve checked and Tom’s birthday is in May and Dustin was at Tom’s last birthday party as his boyfriend in May 2013.
I’ve read some commentary from people who claim to know DLB (it’s the internet so who knows) and they say he’s been looking for a long time for that one guy to settle down with and have babies together and that he’s really been thinking that way ever since his older brother died sudenly of cancer a couple years ago. He may think he’s found that guy in Tom. The problem of course is Tom is pretty young so he may not be at that settling down stage.
@xzall: Plus once Tom hits 21 DLB might find him too old. The guy just won’t date anyone even remotely close to his own age.
he’s 19- he SHOULD NOT get married- come on- let the boy grow up!
They stay together for as long as it suits them and their public profile.
@DarkZephyr: I agree with you 100 % I hope Tom will find out that “love at first sight” is not always the one that will last. The “gap” – 20 year – is way to big.
@DarkZephyr: I was just thinking how long till Tom is to old for him.
Still betting they’ll be done by the time Tom’s finished eating that banana.
I support marriage equality- but I don’t think anyone- gay or str8, should be allowed to before they are 21 (hell- some people 30)
@hotboyvb81: Most people 30!
@hotboyvb81: People who are 18+ yo must have the right to marry, have children etc.
God Damn it! How Dare Queerty write such an insensitive article…how is poor Johnny Weir gonna feel when reading about a happy destined to be queer couple. You insensitive bastards. Plus we all know that NPH & DB, our current Kings of Queens will never allow such a couple to threaten their rule! They gonna take a fatwa out on DLB! Now I want everyone to pretend I really give two shits about any of this and I’m in my parents basement engulfed in cats I’ve named after characters from Buffy and my passion is writing FanFict about Glee and SMASH meeting at a Pitch Perfect battle!
@Billy Budd: you really know how to suck the life out of every comments section don’t ya!
Seeing Tom sticking his tongue out, and eating that banana reminds me of lyrics from an old Lil Kim song:
I used to be scared of the dick/
Now I throw lips to the shit/
Handle it…like a real bitch.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say that people under 30 shouldn’t marry. My parents were 18 when they married and 19 when I was born. If they had not married at that age I would never have been born. They remain married to this day, by the way. In addition to that, my fiance is 25. I sure would hate to have to wait another 5 years to marry him.
I don’t think either is looking to get married to each other at the moment. I just think both are enjoying each other. Not that they are not serious about one another. And I noticed that they both have the same hairstyle, which suits Dustin better then the Justin Bieber hairstyle he was wearing for the longest.
No I want him to marry me….in 5-10 years when we’re both ready :). He is so incredibly cute in the last pic.
Off topic, but Black must really like Daley because can you imagine how….um…fun it is to have as a constant companion Daley’s 19 year old Hag with them all the time?! LOL!!!!!!!!
I hope Tom doesn’t make that mistake. DLB has been around the block a few times and is in a position to determine if Tom would make a good long term partner. Tom may have a lot more experience with gay sex than we know about but he has very little experience learning the intricacies of living out and proud in the gay community. In my experience, men like Tom need to sow their wild oats for a while before he really knows what he wants out of a relationship and is ready to settle down. IMHO if Tom gets married to his first boyfriend it won’t last very long.
@Cam: Tom’s Hag is older than he is- she’s in her 20s- but point taken… all the pics of 40 year old DLB hanging with Tom and his teenaged friends is so sad!
The gay community has suddenly started to resemble the straight community circa 1950. Marriage after 6 months of dating — with one of the pair being under 21 is an expectation right out of Leave it to Beaver. It seems like many gay men are running around wearing wedding veils ready to marry the first guy they meet. The divorce industry is going to surge in the next five years.
@barkomatic: 100% Agree!
Hopefully not. I’m always of the opinion that no one under 25 should be getting married. Not a believe in people getting married young.
I still haven’t gotten over my imaginary fantasy boyfriend Tom has cheated on me!!!
That being said its waaaaaaaay too early for him to even think about getting married. Nothing against Dustin, but lets face it he kinda sorta been around the block. Tom still has his Gay training wheels on and he needs to pedal around the neighborhood, make a few stops before he decides to settle down………….
didn’t mean to bold that whole thing! :p
@PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS: 100% Agree
First as to the potential longevity, there have been many relationships that have ;lasted between people of such disparate age gaps. Isherwood and Bachardy most famously.
I hope they don’t even think of getting married soon. The relationship should last at least for a few more years.
And if Tom wants Dustin, warts and all, he doesn’t need to “peddle around the block”
