Will You Help Blogger Joe Jervis Reach Lifetime Blog Achievement?

In 2006, less than six months after Queerty launched, we won the 2006 Weblog Awards, known to many as The Bloggies, for Best GLBT Blog. It’s the Oscars of the blog universe — or, because of the way winners are chosen, the People’s Choice Awards — and it was a proud moment. Since then, we’ve been nominated every year there was a GLBT category until 2009, when they removed the award. But it’s back this year, and while Queerty isn’t on the list for 2010, gay NYC blogger Joe Jervis of Joe My God is up for a Lifetime Achievement award. Which is pretty cool. So go vote for him if you like his style.

Joe has some stiff competition in that category. I hope he wins.

JoeMyGod is a daily read for me, and I wish him luck.

However, I do think you should have told us who the other nominees are in this category.

Joe has a great blog and a cute pussy cat, but it’s not nearly as comprehensive as Andy Towle’s, nor are the graphics as sophisticated as Andy’s.

It’s much easier to leave comments on Queerty and Towleroad.

Where did you get that photo. It looks like Joe has really aged. I hope he’s okay.

I don’t like narcissistic sites named after a person! I am not defending Queerty which should never be nominated for anything Gay Positive even though it is the site people come to for anonymity and blistering attacks (often unchecked!) We are the sum of all parts as Queers, not One person! You could get better editors in the future….

@dontblamemeivotedforhillary: I agree about a site being named after one’s self, although it’s understandable if the blog is only about one’s self and one’s personal life. When you try to act like a current events, lifestyle blog it’s a bit much. I will say that Joe does not seem to be nearly as egotistical as Kenneth-in-the-212. I do give Joe and Kenneth credit for having catchy names for their blogs. Neither of them are true award winners by any stretch.

@Mike: 212 is a skinny twig who thinks that any guy with an athletic build or who has any degree of muscular definition MUST be on steroids.

He’s AIDS-y and self-important.

JMG used to be a good blog back when it was a sex blog and before Jervis became obsessed with politics and thinking that he’s a voice for every gay male out there when he’s not.

Truth-Jervis used to write about being HIV+ but now he’s all about politics and just copy/paste news articles. BORRRRRING!

Joe also does not blog about issues that bisexuals, trans people, or other people who are not just gay men face.
