"We're continuing to assess where we want to go, but certainly Sen. McCain is no George Bush when it comes to gay issues. He has a more inclusive record than our current president and he is going to be able to get our party focused on the unifying core Republican issues instead of using divisive social issues to win." – Log Cabin Republican leader Patrick Sammon on John McCain. He and his comrades have not yet decided who they'll endorse. [Washington Blade]

I.e. he's not going to address any social issues in any meaningful way and hopes that you won't either!
Mr. Sammon, I'd like you to meet my friend The Tooth Fairy, who has a bridge he wants to sell. Oh. Puh. Leeze.
I hope that Log Cabin burns down.
Well let's see…At the Democratic Convention, there were clear and unmistakeable shout-outs to the GLBT community by Clinton, Clinton, Biden and Obama. All stated unequivocably that they supported nondiscrimination and equality (definitions may vary).
Let's listen hard to the repubs (OK, someone else listen hard: I'm not going to be paying attention, because I'm trying to control my blood pressure) for any positive mention of gays and lesbians.
Come home, LCRs: If there's room in the Dem's big tent for pro-lifers (who spoke at the Dem convention…how many pro-choicers will be on the dais in prime time in Minneapolis?) there's room for conservative gays.
Um, he appeared in Ads in AZ supporting a state constitutional amendment banning gay marraige….how is he better than Bush?!?!!?
Log Cabin-ers…what mirror do you use? Why do you try time and time again to be a part of a group that does not want you?!?! Self-loathing can only go so far…come to where you are truly welcomed…the Democratic Party. We welcome you with open arms!
Makes sense to me, LCR guys. I mean, if you yourselves live in a bubble, why not vote for somebody else who's just as disconnected from reality as you are? So Grampy "has a more inclusive record than our current president"… who, if memory serves, YOU endorsed and voted for. What was that about, anyway? And why the hell should we care what you endorse this time around?
I would really hate the LCR, but they obviously loathe themselves much more than I'd ever bother to, so it saves me the trouble. Still, I can't help wondering what that kind of life must be like. Seems so sad and wasteful.
McCain has been documented calling his wife a c*nt, Asians g*ooks, and telling rape jokes. What do you think he says about us with his GOP buddies.
