World Cup Fever Inspired Transgender Soccer League

Screen Shot 2014-07-14 at 10.12.45 AMThe World Cup may be over, but the tournament is having a lasting impact in the most unlikely of places — the Colombian trans community.

Say what you will about the sport, but one amazing trait of soccer is that all it takes to play is a ball. No expensive equipment or complicated rules; just two teams and a ball.

And after seeing the game help unify the Colombian people during the World Cup, a group of trans women have come together in hopes of achieving the same effect.

Watch their story here, and kudos to Mariana for conducting the entire interview while getting her hair done:

While these ladies really suck at the game at least they are trying something different to break stereo types and unify a divided community. God I hope they get better though. It was painful to watch.
