When someone “hacked into” to Joe McElderry’s Twitter account and wrote “It’s been difficult living a lie for so many years,” last year’s X Factor winner quickly insisted he was not gay, and he didn’t write those words. Only half of that story might be true: McElderry just came out.
It’s not that McElderry, 19, has by lying about his sexuality, he says. It’s just that he didn’t know himself: “I’ve had time to think about things. I wasn’t attracted to anyone anyway, male or female. It never really entered my head I was gay. But I just know. It’s how I feel.” And the Twitter incident helped move things along: “The Twitter thing actually helped because I realised I wasn’t that bothered, and the penny dropped.”
It was three weeks ago he came to the realization — which means he’s got some catching up to do. So far, he’s only kissed one dude, he says. “I’ve kissed lots of girls but only one boy. I thought, ‘Oh, that’s weird, maybe that’s what happens.’ I didn’t know what it meant. It was nothing serious, just a one-off thing.”
And Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole have already voiced their support. What a couple of fag hags.

I haven’t heard news of a Tabloid. But, someone hacked his Twitter a while back, posting a tweet about how Joe was gay. This got him to start evaluating his life more. This is what prompted him to come out – in my opinion – and according to what he says. If you’ve followed him from the beginning, he’s always been a very sincere guy. So, I would trust what he says about all of this. Unlike some, there are people out there that are still credible. Plus, he’s young. Many people don’t get their sexuality figured out until their his age – or older.

This is a shaky coming out at best. He kisses one boy, says “that’s weird,” and then suddenly decides he’s gay? Obviously he’s very young and still trying to figure things out. Many guys don’t really get a clear picture of their own sexuality until they’re well into their 20’s or even early 30’s.

Everyone journeys to discover her or his sexuallity and most of the times its a serious of fumbles and stumbles. The sad part about this is that traditonally, most people that do come out and gain some type of exposure traditionally are European primarly from the UK. ex: ( he’s not gay, his British).
It would be lovely if more young American entertainer would do the same. Then kids living in places like middle America can truley have an idol!!!

You just know his publicist and advisors were pleading with him to continue deny the rumors, most likely already had a “serious girlfriend” hired for him to “fall for”…….Instead he decided to be true to himself and simply admit who he is. Bloody fantastic…he came out. He was by far the most professional and spot on performer of this year’s X-Factor contest. He beat a cute straight guy and girl in the finals. Maybe performing with Geo. Michael in the finals helped him win…maybe George is who kissed him. Hope not.
Joe admitted he was a chubby kid growing up, and maybe he was dealing with his sexual idenity, but now that he won a recording contract, a million dollar$, had a #1 hit, is being handled by Simon Cowell, and has scores of adoring fans, he is fearless. Good for him…I applaud him.

It would explain why there doesn’t seem to be an actual “coming out” interview, both The Sun and The Mirror claimed Joe had spoken exclusively to them but used exactly the same quotes.

I checked his twitter account when he claimed it was “hacked”. He had shout outs to Beyonce and Perez fucking Hilton, and was all excited over going to a Pink concert.
