Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh Will Walk Like An Egyptian: Out The Door

Taking a hint from its neighbor to the northwest, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh says he won’t seek re-election in 2013. Just like Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, the move will end Saleh’s three-decade power hold on the country. He’s even throwing opponents a bone: He’s promised not to install his son as his successor. Wowee! Not that a new president will really usher in a new era for gays, or even magazines that publish articles about gays. “I present these concessions in the interests of the country,” Saleh told Parliament. “The interests of the country come before our personal interests,” Saleh told his parliament, Shoura Council and members of the military. No extension, no inheritance, no resetting the clock.”
