Anyone else just receive the Human Rights Campaign’s e-blast about yesterday’s marriage win in New Hampshire? Joe Solmonese writes: “Yet another major victory in New England: today New Hampshire’s governor signed marriage equality into law, making it the sixth state to allow loving same-sex couples to marry.”

I haven’t gotten an email from them…or anyone.

Seriously?! is this the best you can do Queerty? How about acknowledging all the other communications that went out on this issue on their website, blog, and everything else.
i’m seriously tired of all of this community bickering and hard on people seem to have for HRC. grow up and report real shit and not silly mistakes.

HRC should be criticized. First, it helps to keep them on their toes. HRC does not belong to Solmonese or any other person. It belongs to the LGBT community who supports it.
A quick trip to HRC’s website is very revealing. There appears (to me) to be no real substance. It’s mostly gooey happy stuff. This is not a feel good festival we are engagaed in today. It’s a civil rights struggle. Even the “Take Action” tab is useless. If I want to take effective action, it certainly won’t be at an LGBT event – talk about preaching to the choir. There is no transparany either. Not once have I ever received a request for input or an update on actions, goals, policy, strategy, etc. I realize some of this should be kept under wraps, but HRC seems to be more like a secret fraternal organization publishing happy mind control propaganda then a civil rights group.
And how much money are they spending on that website. I don’t need taped video segments (like Equally Speaking) for example – I can get my news from Rachel Maddow.
In general and in my opinion, it just seems that HRC is wimpy and ineffective. Joe Solmonese comes off as being afraid to flex any muscle – like he’s afraid of his own shadow.
We need a KICK-ASS TAKE-NAMES DONT BACK DOWN DEMAND FULL EQUALITY man or woman for HRC.

@DF: It would be best if you identified yourself as someone who works for HRC, as your computer address indicates.
Alec
@jd: That is a serious violation of trust. Astroturfing?
I think the IP addresses should also be checked on the DADT report.

@Alec:
Wow!

@Chitown Kev: If Professor Belkin of the Palm Center is correct, a “national gay rights organization” or “organizations” have been actively working to defeat legislative proposals to repeal DADT. It is a serious charge. And when he was interviewed, it was in the context of the NGLTF (which doesn’t lobby), HRC (which does) and “other washington groups,” which, well, how many lobby on the Hill?
If Belkin’s statement is accurate, HRC has serious explaining to do.
