15 Portraits Of Gay Icons Photographed By Terry Richardson

Yesterday, Terry Richardson (or as we like to affectionately call him, Uncle Terry) celebrated his 48th birthday. This year also marks his 20th year in the business of photographing celebrities for magazines, such as GQ, OUT, Vanity Fair and much, much more. Some of his most iconic portraits have been of our favorite icons, including Lady Gaga and Frank Ocean. It’s no wonder why everyone either turns up in his studio or commissions him to take their picture. When you put all his craziness aside, he takes amazing photos.

The lighting is off. The shadow is harsh. Mug shots say more.

I have had a show in New York, lab. I also studied photography and understand it, though it’s not my current medium, so bite me.

Some of these photos don’t even have names on them like who is number 5?
Anyways, though, I would not consider 95% of these ‘gay icons’. The term gay icon is used so loosely nowadays.
