A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of killing his ex-boyfriend.
On Wednesday, April 18, the body of 17-year-old Jeremy Sanchez was discovered stabbed to death near a riverbed in South El Monte, a community east of Los Angeles.
A 16-year-old classmate of Sanchez, who has also been identified as being romantically involved with the victim, was arrested. The suspect’s name is not being released because he is a minor.
It is believed that Sanchez broke up with the suspect and had begun dating a girl.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Sanchez was reported missing by his father the night before his body was discovered, prompting a search effort.
The suspect “discovered” Sachez’s body by the riverbed.
“This is somebody who obviously planned this, who tried to plan it well,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Lt. John Corina. “And who then tried to throw everybody off.”
A friend of Sanchez, Ashley Lara, told local news that he’d previously been the victim of homophobic abuse at the hands of fellow classmates.
“He stopped wrestling and being a football athlete because of this bullying,” she said. “He might have been bisexual and he got bullied because of that. So that made him quit sports.”

It’s getting dangerous these days to be bisexual.
DCguy
True, or he was gay and tried to date women because of the bullying. Either way, this poor guy, bullied at school and then a crazy ex kills him?!?
Donston
I really don’t see what living a “bi lifestyle” has much to do with this story. Sanchez was bullied for his gay behavior/relationship not for being with a chick. And exes have killed their former partners many times, and it has rarely had anything to do with “switching teams”.
Ultimately, it’s just a very sad story that points out we still have a lot of work to do when it comes to homophobia, mental health and self-esteem.

This entire situation is just sad.

Hopefully the alleged killer is tried as an adult since this was so calculated. RIP to the victim.

I am sure someone here will try to spend this into the people responsible for this is truly the victim. Maybe it will be something like… He is gay and heartbroken, he was just looking for a way to express his hurt, he needs help, not jail.

What some one should do is mention that the crazed killer who shot up the Waffle House in Nashville was not only were ONLY a jacket with his bare bottom exposed but he also threatened neighbors with that assault rifle while wearing a pink dress.

How does this relate?

So he got bullied for liking guys, broke up with his bf for a girl then got killed by his ex-bf, bullying must have been the reason why he broke up with his bf and went to be with a girl so that classmates would stop bullying him but his bf was too in love with him and killed him in a crime of passion, understable but still wrong nonetheless.
