Alice In Wonderland stars Mia Wasikowska as a likable, not-annoying teen who chooses to restore peace and Anne Hathaway’s crown while fending off a red bobble head and her army of playing cards with the help of a transparent flame-haired Johnny Depp, two stubby twins, and a roster of talking animals that were probably fetched from background scenes of The Wizard of Oz.
It opens tomorrow and you should see it.

No thanks. It’s only loosely based on the book.
demonW
Absolutely! It’s only loosely based on the book.
Shawn
@demonW: I officially love you lol.
Jack
Absolutely! What’s a book?
jason
I have no interest in seeing yet another role where Johnny Depp puts on make-up to play a weird character.
Shade
Well it’s a movie so everyone has to put on makeup Jason. He plays a weird character without makeup in most of his public appearances though.
I’m in.
Bryan Harris
@Jason-My thoughts exactly.
Bryan Harris
@jason: You said it.
Ricky
It is only LOOSELY based on the book BECAUSE it takes place after the story in the book! (Supposedly… I haven’t seen it yet but I will!)
Lady Ga-Gasp
I just hope I can keep my buzz after driving over, parking the car and ordering everything in the concession stand and finding my seat. Otherwise I’ll just have to eat the “Cookies” as back up.
Fitz
BORED with Tim Burton’s perspective.
It’s the same shlock over and over and over. Pass.
Timothy
Of course I’ll see it. And it’s not based on the book at all! It takes place years later when Alice returns to Wonderland.
Erv
Another movie where Depp wears make up, prances and advances, acts effeminate, but is not, I repeat, not gay. Thanks, but I have seen Pirates of the Caribbean.
fredo777
Whatever. Looks interesting + I’ll be watching Johnny Depp do his thing again (which he’s excellent at).
Qjersey
This films looks like the most popular showtime will be 4:20.
Dave
Do any of you even know that there is actually a follow up to the original Alice in Wonderland story…and this movie is NOT based on any of them. I’m going to go see it and hopefully I get a blowjob from my date in the theater while everyone is distracted by the 3-D glasses.
KyleR
I want to see it. I think its a cool looking movie.
james p. p.
is it just me or does Johnny Depp look like Madonna in the previews?
i am totally for this new 3D direction in hollywood. and i will reserve all judgement until after i’ve seen the film.
i’m telling you, it’s Madonna…
TheAwfulTruth
Is that Anderson Cooper in drag in the picture?
AndTom
Did anyone see the showings that happened last night? Did anyone like it????
benlayvey
@Erv: Well…he residences in France, Nes pa?
Yo
@Fitz: I have to agree actually.
Lukas P.
Depp was too wacky creepy freaky for me as Mr Wonka in the Charlie/Chocolate/Factory/Golden Ticket remake.
He was damn sexy in “Chocolat” though!
I’m gonna sit this flick out. Maybe netflix it later on….Will watch “Hurt Locker” first though!
romeo
The original novels were wacky and drugged out and subversive, also bright and witty. This movie is dark and lethargic except for the last few minutes where it turns into “Red Sonya”for some reason. The only thing that I really liked was her fall down the rabbit hole. That had some spark of the original. Depp was miscast. He just wasn’t wacky enough. The mad hatter is mad as in crazy. Tim Burton has a lot of style, but he always seems to miss the mark for me.
SenorShinyBuns
@romeo: I fully agree. I couldn’t say it better. I think i’m going to copy pasta your explanation, because all of my friends keep asking me why I hated the movie (which I saw like 4 hours ago).
Alice in Wonderland: Not funny, not witty, not trippy, and practically nonexistent plot progression. It was pretty horrid. The only part worth mentioning was the mad hatter’s dance at like the last 10 minutes of the movie. That was pretty amazing. The rest of the movie will be a memory that I will try my hardest to repress.

@Fitz: JADED QUEEN CENTRAL!

Another Tim Burton cartoon pretending to be a movie…
