During his lifetime, Freddie Mercury kept his sexuality a secret (albeit one hiding in plain sight, considering the chosen name of his band).
A newly unearthed serious of photos reveals a different side of the iconic singer, featuring him in several intimate moments with his boyfriend Jim Hutton, and their bond is certainly evident throughout the 20-plus photos.
As Bored Panda reports, their relationship was initially off to a rocky start — Hutton declined Mercury’s advances twice, but finally relented after two years when the singer approached him one night in a nightclub. (Persistence is all.)

Two years into their relationship, Hutton moved into Garden Lodge with Freddie, and they stayed together up until the artist’s untimely death in 1991. Mercury even offered Hutton an exit from the relationship once he learned he had AIDS, but Hutton stayed with him.
“I love you,” Hutton recalls saying in a documentary. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Hutton was even there with Freddie in his final moments.

Adorable.

Glad to know that Freddie was NOT isolated, alone and unloved in his later years.

Alan, I couldn’t agree with you more. I think the press at the time of his passing, made us think he led a lonely and isolated life. So glad to see these pictures and know he was in love and loved in return.

I was very young when Queen hit, but I was drawn to him (and had no idea way…).
