Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google are among the 206 major U.S. and international corporations that signed an amicus brief submitted to the Supreme Court on Tuesday, July 2, to argue that sexual orientation and gender identity should be included in federal civil rights law.
Per NBC News, the brief comes three months before the Supreme Court is due to hear arguments in three cases involving LGBTQ workplace discrimination, after which the justices are expected to rule whether workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

“The 206 businesses that join this brief as amici collectively employ over 7 million employees, and comprise over $5 trillion in revenue,” the brief reads. “These businesses — which range across a wide variety of industries (and some of which are even competitors) — share a common interest in equality because they know that ending discrimination in the workplace is good for business, employees, and the U.S. economy as a whole.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

This is an instance of corporate power doing the proper thing and supporting LGBTQIA+ people! Even more need to sign on, and ASAP.
Goforit
I would be interested to know which companies decided not to sign the brief. Other than “Crap-fil-A” and “Faux News” of course.
sanfranca1
No Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines…odd.
Terrycloth
Where are the studio companies out of Hollywood …? record Companies ? Tv /cable companies ?
Jared MacBride
Amazon, Walt Disney, Warner and Viacom all signed on . . . or didn’t you read that far?
batesmotel
The studios were one of the first to enact it.

Ugh. My company isn’t on here. So much for all diversity/Pride Month outreach. Time to email the chief people officer and see what’s up. Hoping for an honest answer.

Verizon, Sprint, Ford, Planet Fitness, Target, Wal-Mart, Reebok, FedEx, UPS, Geico, Progressive aren’t on the list; just to name a few large employers.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
Countdown til a loser troll decries the list because these companies are “pandering” for Gay dollars…10, 9.
nm4047
I get it, your log on name is irony. 🙂

Home Depot, Verizon, Comcast, FedEx, UPS, (to name a few) support PRIDE but donate money to anti-LGBTQ political candidates. Wal-Mart is notoriously anti-gay. HRC posted an article about this particular topic. Also notice an almost complete absence of pro sports teams/corporations – except for The San Francisco Giants!!! Not all that convinced with Disney???
Jayar
My company is not on this list, and I know that they made a donation and public proclamation in support of LGBTQIA+ people. It’s nice to see the companies that are part of this, but I don’t think that it’s comprehensive of all companies that support LGBTQIA+ people in the workplace.
Jared MacBride
It doesn’t claim to be.
nitejonboy
Pizza Hut isn’t on here but Domino’s is…guess I’ll be making a change…though I live in Louisiana, I should be ordering from Johnny’s anyway.
JessPH
No Chick-Fil-A. What a shocker.
nm4047
I don’t see any gay businesses adding their name to the support list.
