Last night, Falcon Studios announced the death of gay adult performer (link NSFW) Jay Dymel, aka Julian Pereza. Although the 27-year-old performer had attended Los Angeles Pride with his boyfriend, fellow performer Ryan Stone, just this past weekend, Dymel reportedly slipped into a coma and was placed on life support yesterday before he died. His cause of death is not yet known.
A GoFundMe set up to raise $10,000 towards Dymel’s funeral costs reads:
Today we lost an amazing human being! We lost a brother, a son, a best friend and most of all a sweet soul. Jules had an infectious personality, it was so easy to love being around him. No matter what he always made you feel loved and like family and now he’s gone. Jules was loved by so many and will remain in our heart forever. He had made his imprint and impact on this world and our community.
Naked Sword studios had just released a new scene with Dymel last month in a two-part series entitled Five Brothers: Family Values! In the production, Dymel played a prisoner who bottoms for another inmate.
It is with great sadness to inform the passing of @jay_dymel today! Our thoughts go out to Jay’s family, friends and partner @RyanStoneXxX A GoFundMe has been created in Jay’s honor and can be accessed at the link below ??

Just last month, gay adult performer Casey Jacks also died at age 29 — some of his adult industry peers suspected suicide.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Related: Men.com just unveiled its new trans male performer, but why aren’t there more in gay adult videos?
As gay pop-cultural critic Johnny Gayzomnic once wrote, the deaths of gay adult performers can shake fans deeply because many of us first learn about our sexuality and pleasure from them. So when they die, it’s like losing an attractive peer who showed us what our raw sexuality can look like.
Gay adult video performers Parker Allen and Billy Santoro as well as gay adult video producers Chi Chi LaRue and Dominic Ford have all donated towards Dymel’s funeral.
Adam
Tragic. And very likely another victim of drug misuse/addiction. And as usual, nobody will talk about the cause of death, so it’ll just keep happening.
Brian
As usual, people will speculate at random.
Evji108
Why does the heeadline pose a question and the not answer it?
Brexit
Could it be because no-one yet knows the answer?
Vince
LA pride is fun but if you have issues with drugs you should probably stay away. Tons of parties and partying. Especially if you’re a hot young porn star. Every door and drug will be open and freely available for you. That or just go home after the parade.
skinheadcity
Vince, I applaud your candour. Peanut allergy cracked me up.
Vince
Yes because the war on drugs has helped so much. We have the highest incarceration rate for drugs and what do we really have to show for it other then then a giant prison industry.
Bromancer7
I wonder if it was a silicone embolism. Tragic.
Vince
Seriously doubt that’s what killed him but then again it has happened before. He was definitely not a vanilla kind of guy. Looks like he liked taking some things to the extreme and nothing wrong with that as long as it’s done safely.
The kid needed someone that cared and watched out for him though. We all have made mistakes in our lives. Especially in our twenties. This could’ve been me many times over. 🙁
xopher
Actually to Vince, but no reply option for his comment:
“Looks like he liked taking some things to the extreme and nothing wrong with that as long as it’s done safely.”
There is NO safe injection of free flowing silicone into one’s body. Ever.
For someone to “slip into a coma”, it makes sense to assume it was illicit drug use just as it would to assume a silicone induced embolism.
It is important to not keep the cause of death a secret, if only as a warning to to be careful about using drugs, or injecting oneself with silicone. Otherwise, kids just don’t notice.
Creamsicle
The dirty open secret of porn is that performers often use drugs to be able to have sex in front of a production crew with a tight filming schedule.
And it’s all done to meet our demand for more, newer, and hotter porn scenes.

“…As gay pop-cultural critic Johnny Gayzomnic once wrote, the deaths of gay adult performers can shake fans deeply because many of us first learn about our sexuality and pleasure from them. So when they die, it’s like losing an attractive peer who showed us what our raw sexuality can look like…” Sorry to break it to you uglies, you’re not as valued as “attractive” partiers. I mean what in the eff?
Vince
Oh no but not far from the truth. I always said. If I was butt ugly my drug addiction would’ve ended much much sooner. Never once did I ever have to pay for it. Of coarse getting older has fixed that:(
PV
Who said he died from a drug overdose? NO ONE.
Hussain-TheCanadian
The heavy drug dependency, to put it quite bluntly, is nothing more than the user/abuser trying to numb their pain.
This pain has nothing to do with “hook up culture”, its deep rooted in economic deprivation, and social bankruptcy/hypocrisy. If those posing the question really care as to why people are abusing drugs, read the last two books by Chris Hedges.
CenterRight
Why should we even care about why druggies do drugs? The fact is that they cheat, lie, steal, hurt their loved ones, lose their jobs and eventually lose everything and have to be rescued by their family and our society. Better putting them behind bars now to force them to quit.
Coruna2018
Hussain:
You could not have nailed that topic on it’s head even more on target if you tried! Addiction of any kind stems from relieving constant fear and emotional pain (even, at times, physical pain). It becomes co-dependence, wanting to be loved and validated constantly because, deep down, we’re ashamed and feel “less than” about who we are or some aspect of ourselves, that drives us crazy from having it and not wanting it. The more we feel ashamed about ourselves, the more we cling to addictions to make us overcome that shame, fear, or hatred about ourselves.
Two sad aspects of addiction among GBT men is that a lot of gay media gives a glamorous patina to drug addiction by calling it “partying”, equating the use of drugs to having a good, festive time at a gay event. Why would anyone need to pop, snort, or inject anything into themselves to alter their emotional state and have a fun time? In order to get away from feeling like hell about themselves. Another aspect of addiction is that it stokes one of the (subconscious) drives to punish oneself for being undesirable in some way. It is not a stretch to assume reasonably that a young man who feels rejection and shame for being GBT and, possibly, comes from a dysfunctional family would seek out jobs that would, on the surface, provide good money but not feel good about what he was doing to earn that money. Someone with a healthier self-esteem wouldn’t, usually, be drawn to porn to earn a living or have a career or take drugs to do his job well or to cope with the negativity he feels about himself for having sex as a job.
While some might see me as a prude or being sex negative for saying all of this but I would say that when sex plays a role in furthering one’s addiction, that is sex negative. May Jay Dymel rest in peace!
Hussain, Chris Hedges’ books and articles on how Americans are reacting to the gradual end of the U.S. as the world’s political and economic superpower are spot on and explain the resurgence of white supremacy and the normalization of hate between groups that is happening now in the U.S. as symptoms of our reactions to that decline in power and world standing, two topics, like the roots of drug addiction among LGBT people, in general, and GBT men, in particular, that most Americans don’t want to confront and accept. Therefore, they channel those fears into hatred (self-hatred and of others different from themselves) and addiction to numb out.
Hussain-TheCanadian
We should care because that’s the first step in opening our minds and hearts as to why someone abuses drugs, to the point of killing themselves – Putting someone in jail for doing drugs is exactly what the United states does to its population, what has that brought?
Once you say that you’ve washed your hands of the problem, and let them simmer in jail, that doesn’t fix the main cause behind drug abuse.
Hussain-TheCanadian
Hi Coruna
Thank you for the nice reply, I enjoyed reading it, and im with you on what you wrote.
People want easy fixes to these social problems, and don’t understand that much of these problems are linked to economic and social injustice, that drive people to slowly kill themselves using these drugs.
CenterRight
Based on your logic, we should also explore why some people murder, rape, or rob their victims, oh, they feel ashamed of themselves, they were rejected when they were young, they were abused or not accepted by their family and therefore, we should have more sympathy for these bad guys because after all it is not all their fault that they turn out to be the monsters like they are. Truth be told, I don’t buy this pseudo psycho analysis why gays like to abuse hard drugs. I think they are selfish, self-absorbed, lacking moral integrity and have no discipline in their life. The abusers are a burden to our society and need to be banished until they can prove that they are sober and clean.
Hussain-TheCanadian
@ CenterRight
What are you talking about? We do explore why people kill, steal, and commit suicide.
Also not all gay men abuse drugs, I don’t. Those that do, do so due to complex reasons; it may include being selfish and immoral, but even those traits are a result of a deeper trauma – I’m not trying to excuse their behaviour, but im interested in creating a society where we simply don’t turn our backs on each other, and then wonder why has society collapsed on our heads all of the sudden.
Geeker
Porn sure seems to be a really dangerous business to get into.
GetYourInfoRight
You only hear about the porn industry because of this site. It’s not a dangerous industry, it’s quite safe. It’s the personal choices of individuals that make their life, dangerous or risky. Porn doesn’t cause it – I know plenty of porn people who lead great healthy lives.
Doctor Benway
Asking a question and not answering it, not even trying to write a good article about the deep reasons of gay porn star suicide…
Ya know, what we usually call «journalism».
Would be nice sometimes to read this kind of things here, instead of «bou hou, straight actors are horrible because they take gay role from us» and «you’re a white privileged guy and i’m a persecuted black man».
Brian
The National Enquirer has better journalistic standards than Queerty. Half the fun of reading this site is seeing how truly bad they are at what they do.
Creamsicle
You expect journalism on queerty? There are 2-3 posts per week that do nothing but summarize reddit threads that may or may not exist. They don’t ever link to the threads, because then why would you read the summary?
GetYourInfoRight
You all should be ashamed for speculating on his cause of death. CAUSE OF DEATH: UNKNOWN. Unless you are suddenly a doctor or coroner and have personally examined him- Shut up.
We are talking about a human life, gone too soon. Whatever the cause may be – it’s sad. It amazes me how quickly someone jumps on the bad wagon to take another person down, especially when that person can’t defend themselves. How the gay community likes to bash one of their own or an ally of theirs so quickly. How many of you had no problem watching him, or looking at his pictures….but now will bash him for what you are speculating. Did I know him – NO, but he is a human being.
Drugs on set is a big NO. If drugs are around, it’s the individual, not the company. And they are doing in secret. You think a company would risk that and their reputation – NOPE.
I know plenty of men, that are uninhibited , who love to perform in front of a camera. They are wild and very sexual and don’t need drugs to perform. I myself included.
Labeling Drug users as liars, cheaters, loosing jobs, etc – is harsh. I’ve witnessed very successful guys that dabble in such and you would never know unless you knew them. They are from the norm to very successful business leaders. Locking someone up behind bars DOES NOT treat the drug problem- it only MAKES IT WORSE. You think tossing someone in jail fixes them, it actually does more harm than good.
As with any profession there are ups/downs. Drugs are all over – not just in porn- the mainstream life – and yes even more present in the gay lifestyle. Whatever reason someone decides to partake in drug use – you have no idea. Wrong/Right – that’s not your decision to make . That’s a higher power calling.
I’ve been on porn sets, even made a few when I was younger. Been to many of circuit parties, home parties and just all out fun. You would be amazed on how many guys AREN’T using enhancers/drugs. Just STRONG SEX DRIVES. and for those that do take – who cares- that’s for them to deal with and I’m not, nor should you be the judge of that. -END RANT- Happy successful gay male, who pleads the 5th.
pharaon.em.joe
I like your reply. I think that some people here didn’t mean it that way but it is still harsh and it presumptuous. I am not defending them.
The individual saying that they need to be put in jail is an ignorant troll. You can’t take him seriously.
Anyway i agree with all the points you made. Thank you
Vince
Understand your points but he basically dropped dead at LA Pride which I’ve been to and after is no different then a circuit party. I don’t see anything wrong with people speculating.
Bob3007
Why sure there’s nothing sketchy here because 27yo males just drop dead for no apparent reason. If it were a heart attack, stroke, clot they would know it pretty instantly after a trip to the E.R. so yes, i will speculate it was some substance. As a recovering addict I SADLY see my young brothers and sisters dying regularly, it’s tragic and sad, but being one myself i know the sad reality. I live in wilton manors the OTHER gay mecca ( east coast san fran/weho) and Tina (t, meth) is bringing this community to it’s knees and not in a good way. So speculating is gonna happen with someone so young and at the end of the day the odds of it being another needless death remain “ high”. Pardon the pun but the struggle is real and so is the probable truth. And to anyone struggling reading this, there IS a solution. Seek out recovery the life you save may be your own. Keep coming back, it works!
Chrisk
Bob3007
Bob I moved to San Francisco 1996 and that was when meth also arrived and it hit big. I also got taken up with it and it took me many years to rid myself of it. I find it amazing when I hear stories like this that it’s still going on today. I guess it’s just because I don’t associate with those kind or places or people anymore. You feel like the world has finally moved on but in reality it’s only your world that has moved on. Getting away from drugs like meth will be the biggest battle of anyone’s life.
Chrisk
Oh and I’m not saying meth was the culprit here. Just likely part of it. Here in weho it is a huge problem as well.
CenterRight
Kudos to you guys who manage to stop the addiction in its tracks. It’s probably one of the hardest drugs to quit because it’s so associated with uninhibited sex, a difficult journey for anyone growing up in a repressive environment. I am not against drug addicts per se but I come from a family with my parents and siblings all addicted to some types of drugs. I experienced the damage first hand and in the end only tough love works because they had to sink to the bottom before they were ready to get help.
pscheck2
I don’t know why so many ‘posters’ are assuming his death is the result of drug abuse! It could of been a natural cause, like aneurysm, stroke, heart attack or….etc!( A local high school athlete , died, unexpectedly, when playing basketball, of an enlarged heart ( just turned 18!). So, lets hold off our pronouncements until we get the official cause. RIP, kind soul.
Brian
Wow, everyone here is an expert medical doctor! Licensed and board-certified! I never knew the world had so many doctors. I feel so foolish for only having three biology degrees… I guess I’m an idiot.
pharaon.em.joe
Haha. On a serious note, what are your specializations in biology? If you don’t mind me asking! 3 degrees in biology sound really cool.
DK
They’re crass, tacky, clueless deplorable know-nothings. Par the course.
Brian
I love all the outrage because people are speculating about the cause of death. It’s a 27 year old porn star who basically dropped dead after being at a gay pride festival. Of course it was drugs.
Vince
Just made the same comment. You know back when I was doing it and someone dropped on say the dance floor we didn’t go into pc mode like you see here. Oh no. Maybe he had a sun stroke or a peanut allergy attack. We always assumed it to be a OD situation because it always was.

I live in Australia and had he opportunity to live in Paris a few years back / Met an incredible guy called Rui who was originally from islands off the coast of Madagascar/ a damn good chef I employed him and spent a few years working together/ Not long after returning to Australia did I get a call from his long time partner to say that Rui had died suddenly whilst they walked together down the street / just like that / dropped dead in the street/ Post Mortem : Brain Aneurysm – This will kill you at any given moment-anywhere-anytime/ Rui was 43 – Healthy but a smoker / My current long time partner is also diagnosed with 2 very tiny brain aneurysms following an unrelated scan / it’s all under control…But just saying- Don’t judge or blame drugs and lifestyle before we see a Post mortem // RIP JAY Dymel / I don’t know who you were but I’m pretty sure you were a fine healthy man
DK
I know someone who died young and suddenly of a blood clot. A blood clot! I’ll never get over it; it was terrifying. We must live every day to the fullest. You just never know.
Brian
My brother died of a heart attack at 47. People die young of natural causes all the time. This guy clearly did not.
Mark
He died of a drug overdose, his so-called BF should be arrested too…hoes, not real love
Brexit
What a mean spirited little troll you are. And your proof for your comment is???
bluesky
I briefly knew him. Unfortunately he was a drug and steroid user. Seemed to kind of spiral out of control within the last year or so, with his life revolving around “onlyfans”. He needed help/support/positive influences in his life that he probably wasn’t getting. If anyone knows anyone who acts out in extreme ways, try to encourage them to get help.
Luvstoread
I second that!!

Addiction is a disease. It is something one is born with. Like any disease a person is genetically predispositioned for addiction, it can manifest at any at any time in a person’s life.
Unfortunately the fatal drug fetanyl has now been introduced. Dealers seeking to maximize profits cut heroin and now cocaine with it. Incorrectly mixing in the slightest miscalculation turns a dose fatal. People are dying by the hundreds weekly in this country. The only hope for someone who gets a fatal dose is if they are lucky enough to have someone nearby with Narcan. Which prevents the fatal dose from attaching to the receptors in one’s body
As someone who has been certified in the use and keep a kit in my car at all times and have been blessed to actually be at the right time and right place to bring back an 18 year old kid, I have seen the miracle of someone who for all practical purposes was dead open his eyes and have another chance at life.
Please cast no hatred towards addicts it is an incredibly tough disease to beat. But people do get it and are able to slowly recapture their lives and live normal lives.
CenterRight
Let’s not sugarcoat the hard drug addiction problem. The belief that addiction is a disease just like cancer is a misguided theory and an insult to all patients whose illness is not their own wrongdoings. At the end of the day, people choose to snort that powder or stick the needle to their arm. Nobody forces them to do it. Until druggies take responsibility for their bad choices, they will continue suffer the dire, sometimes fatal, consequences.
Chrisk

Fentanyl? I’ve done lots of drugs in my past but in my experience gay boys have never really been into heroin like drugs. Drugs that make you feel sexy, keep you up, or just enhance sex are usually the drugs of choice. Old standbys like meth, ecstasy, GHB for instance

What does your comment have anything to do with a death of a young person caused by hard drug OT?

So young Rest In Peace.

People on other sites and blogs are saying that he injected or had injected ‘ silicone ‘ or other substance in his penis. Others are speculating about drug consumption.
08roadrunner
I find it sad that a go fund me account had to be set up to pay for funeral expenses. One would think that the adult film industry would help here being they make millions exploiting young men and women for their films.
Tombear
I don’t get it! Why do all these people active in the gay porn scene ALWAYS ask for funeral expenses or medical expenses. If your job doesn’t pay the bills why do it?
lgwolf
27 years old and suddenly just
‘slipped into a Coma’???
It would help others to know WHY?

As a gay retiring Pschciatrist, it is interesting reading all these deserting comments in the untimely death of Jay Dymel. My respects and condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers.
