Sonoma County came out of the closet a long time ago, so it’s street cred as one of the country’s most gay-friendly destinations is well established.
That understood, it probably comes as little surprise that Sonoma County’s towns are home to a number of gay-owned and gay-friendly accommodations. Still, with all the options, knowing where to go and where to stay is challenging. Here’s a few ideas to get you started on your Wine Country getaway.
1. LGBT resort town Guerneville alone has a plethora of options. From the celebrated and decidedly upscale Applewood Inn with its acclaimed restaurant, to The Woods, the Russian River’s newest clothing optional gay-owned resort, there is a little something for every taste in Guerneville.
2. Just 10 minutes down the road in Monte Rio on the banks of the Russian River, you’ll be seduced by the historic Village Inn, which is also–yep, you guessed it–gay-owned.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
3. Similarly, over in Cloverdale, you’ll find gay-friendly bed & breakfasts like Auberge on the Vineyard, where they serve a three-course gourmet breakfast, and Old Crocker Inn, where in-room massages are on the menu of available amenities.
The list goes on…and there are some stellar resources to help you identify the gay-friendly accommodations in Sonoma County that are right for you.
