Maulik Pancholy, best known for playing Alec Baldwinâs put-upon but hopelessly devoted assistant Jonathan on NBCâs much-missed 30 Rock, comes out publicly as gay in Out magazineâs annual Out 100 list.
Who knew?
Pancholy got his big break playing pot dealer Sanjay on Showtimeâs Weeds before landing his recurring role as Jonathan, whose life was made even more difficult by Liz Lemon, played by national treasure Tina Fey.
In real life, however, Pancholy in full of love, having been in a committed relationship for the better part of a decade.
âI just celebrated my nine-year anniversary with my partner,â the 39-year-old actor told Out. âIt feels like a nice time to be celebrating something like that, especially on the heels of the DOMA and Prop 8 decisions.â
Pancholy can currently be heard playing another Sanjay as one of the voices on Nickelodeonâs animated series Sanjay and Craig as well as the voice of of Baljeet Tjinder on Disneyâs Phineas and Ferb.

He is also in the first/second season of Lisa Kudrow’s show, ‘web therapy’. He’s great in that too.
